Field Handbook for Pests and Diseases of Radiata Pine
Project description:
Develop a field handbook to include about 25 common plantation diseases, insects and animals damaging radiata pine. Each agent will include a page of photographs illustrating the agent and its damage, and a page of text describing the symptoms, significance and treatment. The accompanying photocopy shows the proposed layout used in a similar publication produced in Chile. In order to meet the budget existing photographs will be used where possible and the insect and disease leaflets will provide much of the underpinning information. Subsequent handbooks would be proposed to deal with, for instance, special purpose species, indigenous species and urban trees.
